Two men were arrested this Thursday afternoon (29) in Unamar, in the district of Tamoios, in Cabo Frio, after trying to escape from a Military Police operation against drug trafficking in the region.
According to the PM, the suspects ran when they noticed the approach of the teams of the Reserved Service and the Tactical Action Group (GAT), abandoned a backpack with narcotics and were surrounded inside a house on Rua dos Macacos. 1,825 portions were seized, about 2.1 kilos of drugs: 221 cocaine pins, 608 marijuana strips and 996 crack stones.
The action came from complaints to the Hotline made between August and October. The PM estimates that the material would yield about 13,800 reais in retail and reported that the point of sale would be linked to the Red Command. The two were charged with trafficking in the 126th DP and remain imprisoned.
