A global instability in the GPS affected aircraft from the E2 family, manufactured by Embraer in São José dos Campos (SP), and caused cancellations and delays on Azul flights this Tuesday (22) and this Wednesday (23). The company, which has 50 E195-E2 jets in its fleet, asked passengers to check the flight status.
According to Embraer, the manufacturer received reports of instability in the GPS that affects some types of aircraft and is monitoring the case with the operators and the equipment manufacturer. The company states that the E2 planes have navigation systems and procedures that allow them to fly even with instability, without impacting safety.
Anac monitors the case with the manufacturer and operators and advises that affected passengers receive the assistance provided for in air transport rules. The breakdown occurs at a time of strong demand for Embraer, which had record revenue in the second quarter.
