The new Mac mini and Mac Studio went on sale this Tuesday (22) with a proposal aimed at the corporate market: processing artificial intelligence tasks locally, without depending on renting capacity in data centers.

The equipment, which can cost almost US$20,000, is in direct competition with desktop computers launched by Nvidia and other PC manufacturers, which are expected to be the subject of a Microsoft event in October.

The offer comes in advance of AI models running on the device itself, an alternative that Apple uses as an argument to reduce infrastructure costs and keep data within the company.
