The first complete Translagunar Trail expedition began in the Lakes Region, with the aim of covering approximately 140 kilometers of the route around Araruama Lagoon. The initiative has the support of Prolagos and brings together representatives of municipalities and institutions in the region.
The route connects São Pedro da Aldeia, Iguaba Grande, Cabo Frio, Araruama, Arraial do Cabo and Saquarema, with a starting point at Praia das Pedras de Sapiatiba, in São Pedro da Aldeia. The expedition is expected to last approximately eight days.
In this first stage, the work is technical in nature and seeks to recognize the route, map points of interest and identify signage and structure needs. The information will support the next stages of the route, which is part of the Brazilian Long Distance Trails Network.
