A guesthouse located in Pontal do Atalaia, in Arraial do Cabo, was caught this week with a clandestine water connection. The Prolagos inspection was motivated by the low consumption recorded in the property and identified a diversion installed before the water meter.
The irregularity, known as by-pass, allows part of the water used at the address to not pass through the water meter and not be counted. After the discovery, the Civil Police were called and arrived at the scene to record the incident.
As the high season approaches, the concessionaire expands inspections in higher consumption establishments. According to André Fernandes Bastos, Commercial Coordinator of Prolagos' Inspection sector, deviations can reduce network pressure and affect other customers.
