Maricá will have around 109 kilometers of new sewage networks, with works scheduled to begin between the end of 2026 and the first half of 2027. The project covers Ponta Negra, Itapeba, Jacaroá and Bairro da Amizade and should benefit more than 30 thousand residents, according to the plan published in the municipality's Official Gazette.

In Ponta Negra, 25.9 kilometers of network and the construction of a Sewage Treatment Station are planned. The largest work front is in the area formed by Jacaroá and Bairro da Amizade, with approximately 60.7 kilometers of new networks and another ETE.

In Itapeba 2 there will be another 22.3 kilometers of collection network. Interventions include new stations to receive and treat sewage collected before final disposal, expanding sanitation service coverage in the locations served.
