Maricá City Hall will deliver this Friday (25) the first 35 glasses from the TechVisão program, run by the Department of Science and Technology, which brings assistive technology to people with visual impairments.

Delivery was scheduled for September 30th and was brought forward. The OrCam MyEye model uses artificial intelligence to transform visual information into audio: it reads texts from books, documents, signs and screens, recognizes registered faces, identifies products by barcode and recognizes banknotes.

The equipment works without internet, applications or cell phones, as AI is integrated into the device. The program serves people who are blind or have low vision. Secretary Sabrina Alves stated that the delivery represents autonomy, accessibility and new possibilities.
