The boa constrictor was found on Thursday night (1st) in a flowerbed next to the sidewalk of a residence, in the Vila do Sol neighborhood, in Cabo Frio. The animal was curled up among rocks and vegetation.

The team from the Maritime and Environmental Group (GMA), which is part of the Municipal Civil Guard, was called and carried out the capture. After being removed from the site, the snake was taken to an appropriate area and released back into the wild.

The boa constrictor is not venomous and usually avoids contact with people. The Civil Guard's guidance is to keep your distance, not touch, capture or corner the animal and keep children and pets away until a specialized team arrives.
