Security cameras recorded the invasion of a house in the Vinhateiro neighborhood, in São Pedro da Aldeia, last Friday (18). The owner was traveling for work and received the alert on his cell phone while the property was empty.
According to the family, the suspect took a hundred-meter roll of copper wire, two fifty-meter rolls of aluminum wire, thirty meters of single-phase connection wire and tools used in work on the residence. The estimated loss is R$1,000.
Neighborhood residents complain about the lack of public lighting and report frequent thefts. The city hall informed that it will carry out maintenance on the Vinhateiro lighting next week and that it is maintaining a dialogue with DER-RJ regarding Avenida Wilson Mendes. The Civil Police investigates the case.
