The Armação dos Búzios City Council included on the agenda of this Thursday's session (23) the bill that creates the Papa-Bitucas Municipal Program, aimed at preventing irregular disposal, collection and environmentally appropriate disposal of cigarette butts in the municipality.
Authored by councilor Anderson Chaves (Republicans), PL 122/2026 provides for awareness campaigns and the installation of cigarette butt collectors in high-traffic points in the city and on beaches, with the aim of reducing pollution caused by waste in public and collective spaces.
The text was read in session and is now being analyzed by the Constitution, Justice and Writing Committee (CCJR). Búzios Chamber sessions take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting at 10am.
