September entered the history of Cabo Frio. The municipality recorded the highest volume of rain in the last 30 years, according to data from the General Coordination of Protection and Civil Defense. The rain gauges installed by the City Hall marked 267 millimeters in the 1st District and 297.7 millimeters in Tamoios, while the climatological average for the month is around 50 millimeters.

According to the Civil Defense, the combination of successive cold fronts that advanced along the coast, with moisture transport coming from the ocean, favored the formation of areas of instability. With the approach of a cold front, the municipality is in a stage of attention for the next 24 hours.
