Armação dos Búzios City Hall vaccinated 3,572 dogs and cats during the anti-rabies vaccination campaign held on Saturday (26), from 9am to 4pm, in health units and strategic points in the municipality. The action was carried out by the Municipal Health Department in partnership with the Animal Cause Department.
Vaccination of dogs and cats is one of the main measures to prevent rabies, a disease that can be transmitted to humans by the saliva of infected animals, mainly by bites and scratches. Expanding access to immunization is the municipality's strategy to strengthen protection against the disease.
A new date of the anti-rabies campaign will be announced soon by the City Hall, so that other animals can be immunized.
