Dogs and cats in Búzios can be vaccinated against rabies this Saturday (26), from 9am to 4pm, at 11 points spread across the city. The action is carried out by the Municipal Health Department in partnership with the Department of Animal Causes and Agriculture.

The stations operate in the ESF Brava, Ferradura, Geribá, Cem Braças, Capão, São José, José Gonçalves, Baía Formosa and Olavo da Costa units, in addition to the Lydia Sherman School and Praça do INEFI.

Rabies is a serious disease, transmitted mainly by bites and by contact of saliva from infected animals with wounds and mucous membranes. Regular vaccination of domestic animals reduces the risk of the virus circulating and also protects the population.
