The Secretary of Works of Araruama, Fernando Frauches, stated this Wednesday (28) that only 8% of the city's streets are paved. The statement was made on the Renata Cristiane Online program, on Rádio RCFM, when dealing with the city's urban infrastructure.

According to him, the rules for using oil royalties, especially those that link part of the pre-salt resources to areas such as education and health, limit investments in paving, drainage and sidewalks. Frauches defends the decoupling of 30% of these values to also apply to infrastructure and tourism.

The secretary said that the issue depends on legal understanding and is before the Court of Auditors, with differing opinions on the possibility of separation by municipal law. He mentioned locations such as Novo Horizonte and Guabinha and stated that the discussion is close to moving forward.
